Synthetic Materials

Zybek has a developed a process for creating minerals from oxide feed stock materials.

Examples of include:
Albite (NaAlSi3O8)
Anorthite (CaAl2Si2O8)
Augite (Ca0.9Na0.1Mg0.9Fe2+0.2Al0.4Ti0.1Si1.9O6)
Pigeonite (Mg1.35Fe2+0.55Ca0.1Si2O6)
Fayalite (Fe2+2(SiO4))

The materials are mixed and formulated from commercially-available batch ingredients (i.e., CaO, Al2O3, SiO2).  The batch ingredients are combined in solid form and then brought to molten temperatures by the proprietary remotely-coupled transferred arc plasma.  ZAP’s unique cooling process is then used to cause formation of glass or crystal material.  The final product is then ground to desired size.
